Maddie Hansen

My mini poodle, Stella and I take classes every class window. Stella also participates in camp K9. I have additionally been a member for the safety committee. Some of the projects the committee has worked on is purchasing an AED and first aid kit as well as creating emergency plans.

I have 8 years of association experience, which allows me to understand membership structure and how to price events and products surrounding membership. I also have extensive member recruitment and retention experience. In addition, I have six years of volunteer board experience through other local boards and have served in both secretary and treasurer roles. I have a master’s of business administration (MBA). Finally, I am in the millennial generation and hope I can help the club recruit more millennials.

I have been a member of TCOTC since 2012 when I trained my English Cocker Spaniel Bess in agility.

Currently, Eddie and I have been competing in various dog sports and we love agility!  I also volunteer at agility trials where it is most needed. My main contribution goal for the TCOTC Board would be to give valuable input on the topic of facilities – including improvements and upgrades.

Diane Steele

Diane is the CEO and Founder of Steele Recruiting LLC, a recruitment company that has supported
and connected Executive Assistants and Chief of Staff to CEOs across the United States over the past 20
years.

When asked what she would bring to the TCOTC board, she wrote: I understand recruiting very well and basic functions of the HR department, although my expertise is recruiting. I have a strong vision and am a natural visionary and networker.

Julie Steenerson

Julie was appointed to the board in 2023 to replace a board member who resigned. Her term ended in December 2023 and she has decided to run for a full term on the board. She submitted the following bio:

I am terrifically interested in continuing to serve on the Board of Directors for TCOTC as I have been an interim Board Member since July of this year. During that time, I have recognized the need for continuity among the group to drive strategic initiatives to their completion. There is tremendous opportunity surrounding the brand and I would love to extend my contribution to committee work supporting that.

My LinkedIn profile Julie Steenerson gives an overview of my business experience. I also have previous Board  experience – one with North Loop Neighborhood Association where I was a founding member and Marketing & Promotions Committee Co-Chair for a community that achieved national recognition. I also served on the Board of Directors for Goldstein Museum of Design – a terrifically creative space where I assisted with event planning and execution.

My passion for TCOTC as an organization stems from being a new dog owner in need of expert guidance. We are big fans of Camp K9 – our English Labrador Retriever Jake attends a couple days per week – it is wonderful having a curated curriculum for him with such a caring team dedicated to educating him and us, as owners! We have also taken numerous evening classes with Jake and have gained many necessary tips and thoughtful additional advice in discussions with the trainers.
