Camp K9 @TCOTC is an individualized, custom day-training program for dogs 5 months and older that combines training with enrichment activities to build your dog’s confidence and establish positive behaviors. During your dog’s stay, one of our experienced trainers will work one-on-one with your dog on the obedience skills you choose. In addition, your dog will participate in fun games and exercises that engage the body and mind. From balance beams to wobble boards to pivot perches, our trainers will work with your dog to build balance, body awareness and core strength in a safe and developmentally appropriate way. We believe that interspersing fun and enriching activities with skills training will help build your dog’s confidence, reduce stress and fatigue, and make learning more effective and enjoyable.

Camp K9 features:

  • Full-day or half-day options
  • Individual training plans – you choose the skills to work on in consultation with a trainer
  • Low dog-to-trainer ratio, with no more than 4 dogs per trainer
  • All positive-reinforcement based training
  • No training prerequisites
  • Daily progress reports and home practice assignments to reinforce learning at home.

The only requirement is that your dog is comfortable and quiet in a crate (please, no females in season). You supply a kennel/crate and your dog’s food and training treats. (Crates are also available to rent by the day.)

This program is for companion dogs, not competition dogs, though you may choose skills that can help prepare your dog for competition. Skills include but are not limited to:

  • Sits and downs
  • Recall
  • Impulse control
  • Stay
  • Tricks
  • Polite walking on a leash
  • Going to a mat/bed/place
  • Polite greetings
  • Ignoring distractions

In addition to working on specific skills, our trainers will help your dog gain confidence and improve fitness through games and exercises that engage the body and mind. From balance beams to wobble boards to pivot perches, our trainers will work with your dog to build balance, body awareness and core strength in a safe and developmentally appropriate way.

Please note: This program is not intended to prepare your dog for agility or other dog sports. Dogs under one year will not be jumping due to bone growth and detrimental effects to their joints.
