Mary Catherine “Cathy” Fuller, an early and long-time member of Twin Cities Obedience Training Club, passed away July 13 at age 93. Cathy trained her spaniels at TCOTC and, according to fellow member Eileen Bohn, she “taught classes, was trial secretary, checked people in for training classes, made coffee, and did anything else that needed to be done.”

Cathy was among the “Tuesday morning regulars” who trained their dogs and enjoyed coffee and friendship together, Eileen explained. Along with Cathy and Eileen, the group included Bob Kelly, Winnie Bigelow, Betty & Phil Bobzien, Ardis Brown, and others.
Eileen and another longtime member, Lois Walton, recalled that when a young and pregnant Ruth Foster joined the Tuesday morning group to train her German Shepherd, Cathy didn’t expect her to last. Ruth proved her wrong, however, and eventually became director of training for the club.

Reneé Foster, Ruth’s daughter, remembered Cathy as being always upbeat and generous with her time and talents. “I was a teenager when she was most active,” said Reneé. “She was well liked and she was a number one volunteer! She was a good friend to my mother.”
