SUMMARY:Tracking TD Test
DESCRIPTION:Tracking is a sport in which a dog follows a human scent for several hundred yards to find a scented article left at the end of the track by the human. It’s a great outdoor activity for both people and dogs that takes advantage of a dog’s natural scenting ability. \nTCOTC is hosting an AKC Tracking Dog (TD) test on October 27\, 2024. A dog earns a TD by following a track 440 to 500 yards long with several turns. The track is “aged” 30 minutes to two hours before the dog begins scenting. The handler follows the dog on a long leash and can encourage the dog during the test. \nDOWNLOAD PREMIUM HERE \nDOWNLOAD ENTRY FORM HERE (Fillable PDF) \nConsider volunteering for the Tracking Dog Test! We need volunteer tracklayers to make this event a success. Volunteers need to be available both Saturday and Sunday of the test weekend. Lunch will be provided. No experience necessary.
