SUMMARY:AKC Fetch Test
DESCRIPTION:Earn a new title with your dog! AKC Fetch is the newest title opportunity from the American Kennel Club’s Family Dog program. AKC Fetch tests your dog’s ability to retrieve an object (a bumper or ball). Dog and handler teams compete in four levels: Novice\, Intermediate\, Advanced\, and Retriever. Any dog 6 months or older who has an AKC\, PAL\, or AKC Canine Partners registration can participate. Learn more about AKC Fetch here. \nTCOTC is hosting our first Fetch Tests on Saturday\, May 4. Two tests will be offered: \n\nTrial #1: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.\nTrial #2: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.\n\nThe cost is $30 per test. To enter\, download the premium and entry form at the link below and mail it in per the instructions. SUMMARY:Canine Good Citizen Test
DESCRIPTION:Show the world that your dog is a Canine Good Citizen! The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test is a 10-skill test that demonstrates your dog’s ability to navigate the human world in a polite and well-mannered way. The CGC is open to dogs of all ages\, breeds\, and breed mixes. Dogs that pass all 10 skills are awarded the Canine Good Citizen certificate from the AKC (application fee required). Learn more about the Canine Good Citizen test here. \nTCOTC is offering the Canine Good Citizen test from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Two slots will be available every 15 minutes. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:AKC Agility Trial\, May 10-12\, 2024\nAgility is a sport in which dog and handler teams navigate through a series of obstacles. DESCRIPTION:TCOTC is excited to welcome Kirstin O’Neill back for another series of agility seminars May 17-19\, 2024! There’s something for everyone\, from puppies and young dogs to advanced teams. Each seminar has 8 working spots and unlimited audit spots. All working spots are $140 members/$160 non-members. Audit spots are $25 members/$35 non-members. \nFriday\, May 17\, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: From Extension to Collection and Back: Are you having problems getting your dog to slow down and collect? Do tight turns seem out of reach? Does your dog have a hard time getting out of collection? This seminar will focus on helping your dog achieve greater efficiency of movement on the course.  Jumps and tunnels only. Good for teams trialing in novice and higher. \nSaturday\, May 18\, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Agility Foundations for Young Dogs: Learn agility skills for foundation- and beginner-level dogs! Using only jumps and tunnels\, this seminar will help build drive\, focus\, and confidence in dogs newer to agility\, with an emphasis on rewarding our dogs and keeping them motivated to play the game. Open to puppies age 6 months plus and any team who wants to work on reinforcing their teamwork with their dog. 8 working spots and unlimited audit spots. \nSaturday\, May 18\, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Short Sequences for Young Dogs: Using only jumps and tunnels\, teams in this seminar will practice short sequences with different handling options to teach handlers different ways of getting around a course. Suitable for dogs sequencing 6-10 obstacles at a beginner level (no puppies or Foundation-level students). \nSunday\, May 19\, 8:00 a.m.  – 12:00 p.m.: Short Sequences for Intermediate/Advanced Dogs: This seminar will focus on short sequences with different handling options for intermediate/advanced level dogs. Great for handlers who want to add more tools to their handling toolbox. \nSunday\, May 19\, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Advanced/Masters-Level International Handling: This seminar will prepare handler and dog teams for handling strategies associated with running international style agility courses. \nFOLLOW THIS LINK to register for each seminar. She has trained and competed in agility and other sports with many non-traditional breeds such as Borzoi\, Berger Picard\, Whippet\, Parson’s Russell Terrier\, Malinois\, as well as a mixed breed rescue and her newest addition\, Pumi. Kirstin has Placed and Won in countless regional\, national\, and international competitions\, and has brought home at least 10 medals from world championships in multiple heights. \n​When it comes to training\, she is a firm believer in using aspects of different sports to help better performances in ALL venues. She has trained dogs in many dog sports including Agility\, Flyball\, Obedience\, Trick Training\, Disc\, Dock Diving\, Freestyle\, Barn Hunt\, Terrier Trials\, IPO\, French Ringsport\, Tracking\, Rally\, Scent Hurdling\, and Conformation\, and all are interconnected.
