DESCRIPTION:Dogs (and cats\, birds\, and other animals) are used in TV commercials\, print advertising\, TV shows and movies all the time. How do they do it? What sorts of skills or behaviors do talent agents look for? How do you even get started? And what can you expect if your pet lands a gig? \nJoin longtime TCOTC member Karen Radford for an informational presentation on how to prepare your dog and yourself for opportunities in the media. Karen has trained dogs that have been hired for a variety of jobs\, including a full-length feature film\, and will share what she has learned\, including: \n\nTalent basics\nPortfolio creation\nWhat does the client want\nAuditioning\nYou Got the Job! Now what?\nWhat’s next?\n\nAttend in person at TCOTC or virtually over Zoom. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. The Canine Good Citizen title was designed by the AKC to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. It focuses on responsible pet ownership and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. \nThe skills tested include loose  leash walking\, stay\, polite greeting\, walking through a crowd\, grooming\, a three minute supervised separation\, recall\, and working through distractions. \nMembers $7/Non-members $15. \nWe are scheduling two tests every 15 minutes between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. \nSign up today!

SUMMARY:Animal Talent Casting Call Fundraiser for TCOTC
DESCRIPTION:Does your pet have star potential? Would you like a fun way to support your club? Animal Talent Pool is holding a casting call fund raiser at TCOTC on Saturday\, September 23\, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Dogs should be friendly\, social\, brave\, and well trained\, and have a solid stay command. Photos will be taken of them in a sit\, down\, and stand position. You can also indicate any other talents your dog has\, such as tricks or fun behaviors. Your dog will then be added to Animal Talent Pool’s gallery of animal talent and may be chosen to appear in a print or television ad\, or another special project. \nCost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Other animals besides dogs (cats\, bunnies\, birds) are welcome. All animals must be leashed or crated. Sessions will take place in TCOTC’s Agility Annex. Funds support TCOTC and payment does not signify a commitment to use your animal in any commercial work. This is an opportunity showcase your pet’s unique talents and get registered on the Animal Talent Pool database.
